Help grow the future of jazz in Western Australia with a donation to the WA Jazz Project

Concert events

Jazz is a collaborative art form, and we feed off the honest energy you bring to our concerts.

Every performance is unique as our musicians improvise – feeding off the vibe of the room, exploring the nuances of the music together in real time, and bringing individual experiences to each and every performance.

With your help we can continue to present more opportunities to make music with you.

$600 The cost of piano tuning per concert.

$1000 For graphic design and printing of programmes for one concert.

$3300 To make a live recording of the WAJP.

$5000 Supporting one of our hard-working musicians by sponsoring a ‘chair’ in the band.

$12,000 To make a studio recording of the WA Jazz Project.

Putting it together

It takes weeks, months, and in some cases years to prepare for our performances.

Starting with our creative team: music is selected, arrangements are written, parts and scores prepared, our musicians practice and prepare their parts for rehearsal, before finally hitting the concert hall stage in performance.

Help us build capacity and infrastructure, commission new compositions and arrangements, and bring jazz to the concert hall stage.

$500 To purchase four new music stands.

$2500 To purchase mic’s for the sax section.

$3500 Staging, lighting & sound for one concert.

$8500 To pay for sheet music and part preparation for one concert.

$10,000 To commission, rehearse, and perform a new work for the WAJP.

Inspiring and supporting future generations

Western Australia has a long history of producing outstanding jazz musicians, with many of our community now making music on the worlds finest stages and historic jazz clubs.

Our organisation cares deeply about the education of future jazz musicians, whether it’s through internship programmes, inviting students to observe rehearsals, bringing the joy of jazz music to those that may have never experienced it, or featuring outstanding young talent on the concert hall stage with the WAJP ensemble.

Care for the future of jazz in Western Australia with a gift that will contribute to our education programme.

$500 To send a WAJP musician to conduct a masterclass at a local school.

$1000 To present an introduction to jazz at a local school.

$2500 To fund a deserving school joining the WAJP in a collaborative concert.

$5000 To run an internship programme for one emerging jazz artist or student.

$10,000 To develop a student ‘super-band’ project.

Thank you for the care and compassion you show our art form.

All our generous gift-givers have access to select behind the scenes visits, exclusive pre-show events, and acknowledgement in programmes and online.
